Meet Jess.

Jessmine Cornelius, known as Jess Suilenroc, found her gift of singing at the age of six. At the constant push of her grandmother, the late Jo Ann Perkins, Jess easily became a standout in every choir she participated in during her grade school years. Her viral singing career began in October 2016, when her cover of “Silly”, by Deniece Williams was uploaded and received 4 million views in two days, 10 million views in it's first week and over 25 million views to date.

Since then, Jess has maintained that momentum by posting videos that regularly reach over 1 million views and garnered a following of over 500,000 supporters across all platforms. Jess believes it is important she manages her own social media in order to reach and engage genuinely with her fans. She loves that her fans come from different generations – her older fans that grew up on this music, and her younger fans that are discovering it for the first time.

In terms of influence, she credits Anita Baker, Lailah Hathaway, Lauryn Hill and H.E.R. as pivotal inspirations. Subsequently, she likes to describe herself as a free spirit with vibes like Lauryn Hill and a spirit like Erykah Badu.

Education has always been her number one priority but she has learned, through time, that her gift is necessary to reach, fuel and motivate others. A native of Dallas, Texas, she is a proud graduate of Prairie View A&M University, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in History with a minor in African-American Studies and is currently pursing her Master's in Education.

Jess currently resides in Atlanta, Georgia where she enjoys sharing music authentically. Her philosophy of life is Luke 12:48, "For unto whom much is given, much is required."

"This is a young woman who the world will surely see do some great things to help empower people"
